Mr. Naveen Jindal has many facets to his personality. He has represented Kurukshetra in the 14th and
15th Lok Sabha, is the Chairman of Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL), Chancellor of the O.P.
Jindal Global University (JGU), President of the Flag Foundation of India (FFI), a sports enthusiast
and a family man.
The youngest son of Shri O.P. Jindal, the steel visionary and former Member of Parliament and
Minister for Power in the Government of Haryana, Mr. Naveen Jindal is the man behind the
transformation of a moderately performing company into a world class organisation. After consolidating
its position as a leading player in the steel, power, mining and infrastructure sectors domestically,
JSPL has now international operations in Africa, Oman, Australia and Indonesia besides its wide spread
presence in India.

Ernst & Young conferred upon him the Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the field of Energy and
Infrastructure in 2010.

was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award for 2010 by the University for his contribution to public
service, being a responsible corporate citizen and guiding his company in becoming a global
player.
In recognition of his exceptional distinction in the fields of entrepreneurship and public service,
unqualified reputation for honesty, personal integrity and high standards of personal and professional
character, the UTD’s school of management has been christened as the Naveen Jindal School of
Management. This recognition has led to the establishment of the Naveen Jindal Institute for
Indo-American Business Studies.
In recognition of his outstanding contribution to legal education and corporate philanthropy, Mr.
Naveen Jindal who is also the Founding Chancellor of the O.P. Jindal Global University was conferred
with the Justice P.N. Bhagwati Award by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, former President of India.
The dominant themes in his public agenda reflect his determination to work for a cleaner, safer and
more equitable world, free of hunger, corruption, population instability and gender biases. Equally he
is committed to issues like women’s empowerment and promotion of sports at all levels. His
ideology is to incorporate the best practices of business management into politics.
As issues of national pride and self-esteem have always been of utmost interest to him, he
single-handedly took up the cause of restoring in Indians a national pride, choosing the Tricolour as
his symbol. His decade long crusade culminated in a historic judgement by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of
India, on January 23, 2004 that upheld the right of every Indian citizen to fly the National Flag
freely, with respect and dignity. Following this, in response to his continuing campaign, the Home
Ministry agreed in December 2009 to allow the flag to be flown at night when it is installed on a
monumental flagpole with proper illumination. Further, on February 18, 2010 he got the Rules Committee
of Indian Parliament to allow Members of Parliament to wear the National Flag on their lapels while
seated in the House. He is currently putting up 100 and 207 feet high monumental flags across the
country. Over 61 monumental flags have been hoisted so far.
Also, he is a national record holder in skeet shooting and an accomplished polo player.
Mr. Vidya Rattan Sharma is Managing Director for Jindal Steel & Power Ltd.
Prior to joining JSPL, he was Group CEO of AbulKhair Group and managing its Steel, Power, Cement
& Mining business and previously he was Dy. Managing Director & CEO of Jindal Steel &
Power Limited.
He has also worked as Executive Director of Ispat Industries Ltd, Joint MD & Whole time Director
of Bhushan Group. He also worked in management position with other steel companies overseas including
Socialist Steel Limited Libiya, Lloyd Steel Group and Arrasate Steel Spain.
Extremely passionate for Steel, Mr. Sharma has given 36 years to the industry while leading
multi-locational Steel/Power/Cement/Mining operation, innovative cost effective large steel projects
management and was instrumental in bringing in transformation changes of various steel corporate.
Mr. Sharma is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering and has completed his Master’s in Business
Administration from UK.
Mr. Sudhanshu Saraf is an alumnus of the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (IT-BHU),
Completed B-Tech in Metallurgical Engineering in 1987. He holds Master Black Belt in Lean & Six
Sigma and brings with him more than 30+ years of experience in the Automobile sector for 12+ years
(Eicher), in the Financial Services sector for 8+ years (Fidelity National Information Services) and
in the Management Consulting sector for the last 10+ years (as an independent consultant).
Mr. Saraf is practicing TOC consultant and helped many organizations of different sizes & sector
to turnaround through “Whole System Thinking” using ToC as primary engine. He was
associated with Goldratt India for a period of 10 years and prior to that he was responsible for
Process Excellence function globally for eFunds, a US-based company providing payment solution to
financial institutions, retail and telcos. Prior to this stint in the services sector of over 8 years,
he was with Eicher (manufacturing and consulting) for about 13 years.
As a management consultant, he has worked with Godrej Properties, Crompton Greaves, Punj Lloyd,
American Express, Vodafone (UK), General Motors (Egypt), Eveready (South Africa), Premas Biotech, Sona
Okegawa, Samtel Color, Gokaldas Images,Batliboi, Flexituff International,Jindal Steel & Power
Limited, Jindal Shadeed Iron & Steel (Oman) and Wollongong Coal Limited (Australia).
He played a significant role in JSPL turnaround, increasing the EBITDA of JSIS by over five times and
now working as a part of JSPL family, bringing his expertise & energy in the group.
Mr. Bharat Rohra, Managing Director & CEO of Jindal Power Limited is an astute power sector
professional with a rich experience spanning over 37 years. Mr. Rohra is amongst the highly
experienced power sector professionals with proficiency in diverse areas including Design, Contracts
and Project Management of mega Power Plants, Steel Plants, Transmission Lines and Sub-Stations.
A civil engineering graduate from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, Mr. Rohra joined
leading public sector unit National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) as an Executive Trainee in 1979.
At NTPC, he worked in various capacities in Engineering and Project Management functions. After a
stint of 25 years, he moved to Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) where he looked after
engineering for various types of sub-stations and transmission lines for over 4 years.
Mr. Bharat Rohra joined Jindal Power Limited (JPL) in February 2009, and was instrumental in setting
up of the 2400 MW expansion project of JPL at Tamnar, Chhattisgarh. The power plant was completed and
commissioned in a record time, well within the original project costs and won many laurels.
After the successful commissioning of OP Jindal Super Thermal Power Plant, Mr. Rohra was assigned the
task to manage the setting up of India’s Largest 4 MTPA Blast Furnace at Angul – Odisha,
largest expansion project of JSPL. The Blast Furnace facility includes India’s largest Sinter
Plant and Coke Oven Plant. The India’s Largest Blast Furnace was completed and commissioned in a
record time and at lowest costs, as compared to projects of similar size and scale world over. After
the successful commissioning of the Blast Furnace project, Mr. Rohra was designated as the CEO of JPL
in August 2017, and manages the business interests of JPL including the 3400 MW OP Jindal Super
Thermal Power Plant at Tamnar, Chhattisgarh.
Mr. Deepak Sogani is an engineering graduate from IIT Delhi and PGDBM from IIM Ahmedabad and has over
25 years of experience in various industries including Financial Services, Information Technology and
Manufacturing (Cement, Sugar, Refractories, Renewable Energy, Steel and Healthcare). He is well
experienced in all areas of business and financial management with special focus on strategy, M&A,
business/corporate development, business restructuring, corporate finance, capital markets, investor
relationship, governance, operations and enjoys supporting growth and scaling of businesses. He has
significant experience of managing strategic transaction, acquisitions, raising capital and taking
companies to public both in India and US.
Mr. Rahul Taneja holds an MBA degree in Marketing from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneshwar
and is also a Mechanical Engineer from National Institute of Technology, Bhopal

resources, corporate strategy, sales & marketing, business development and consulting. He has
previously worked with large Indian conglomerates and MNCs like Jet Airways, Essar Group, Dell

A steel industry expert with over 44 years of varied experience, Mr. Pankaj Gautam is currently the
Chief Operating Officer – Odisha Angul | Tensa | Barbill | SSD of Jindal Steel & Power Ltd.,
He is a seasoned steel veteran with multi-fold experiences and an in-depth knowledge of global steel
making processes and a deep appreciation of various nuances of an integrated steel plant.
In his previous tenure as Executive Director - Projects & Operations Incharge for the Raigarh
Steel Plant, he has delivered optimal results in high growth environments through initiatives that
exceed operational performance targets and yielded measurable outcomes. Under his strategic guidance
and leadership, the Raigarh facility has successfully accomplished various up-gradations and
modifications; such as revamp of Steel Melting Shop, New Oxygen Furnace (NOF), Commissioning of Slag
Atomisation plant, Commissioning of Blast pressure recovery turbine, Slab caster project, Up-gradation
of Plate Mill and many more.
Mr Pankaj Gautam holds a BE (Electricals) degree from NIT Raipur and holds a PG Diploma in Business
Management (PGDBM) from Ravishankar University Raipur. He started his career with Steel Authority of
India Ltd (SAIL), Bhilai in 1974 and over the years rose to become the first CEO of the facility, in
the year 2011. He has also been on the Board of Visa Steel Ltd, JP Cement Ltd and the J.V. of SAIL
& MOIL.
He is Chartered Accountant by profession. His focus areas include driving and monitoring operational
excellence initiatives like increasing the profitability, correct product mix, cost optimisation,
working capital management and CAPEX feasibility for current and envisaged projects as part of
operational excellence profile. In his capacity of Group Procurement Head, he is responsible in
evaluating suppliers, negotiating supplier agreements, managing vendors, managing the finance and
logistics of the raw materials in addition to the SBU head responsibilities.
He has been associated with JSPL for over 30 years and has contributed enormously to the exponential
growth of the organisation. He has played a key role in overall business development, expansions and
land acquisitions in steel, mining & power projects at JSPL. Over the years, Mr. Kumar has served
in different capacities viz. Head of Finance & Accounts, strengthening Panther brand while working
as SBU Head for TMT & Wire Rod business, Commercial and Marketing across Raigarh & Angul
Locations.
Mr. D.K. Saraogi is one of the senior most employees of JSPL, working presently as Chief operating
Officer & DCPP | Machinery Division | Cement Division | SSD of Jindal Steel & Power Limited,
Raigarh.
Mr. Saraogi has been a force to reckon with, given his committed and tenacious management/ execution
capabilities has spearheaded our 6 MPTA mega steel plant project at Angul and put it in a sweet spot
to reap the benefits of our collective hard work. Much of credit to our turnaround journey goes to the
unrelenting efforts of Mr. Saraogi to bring the Angul Plant in its Operation phase.
Mr. Saraogi was earlier Executive President and Head, Jindal Shadeed Iron & Steel LLC in Oman. He
was given the charge of the Oman operations immediately after the acquisition of Shadeed Iron and
Steel LLC in July 2010. Under his able leadership, the plant started production almost five months
ahead of schedule with the production of Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) on December 05, 2010.
He has more than 30 years of association with the company out of a total of 37 years of professional
experience. Mr. Saraogi holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Government Engineering
College, Jabalpur in the year 1981. Mr. Saraogi started his career in Jindal group with Jindal Hisar,
Haryana, in Nov. 1988, where he successfully commissioned the pilot plant facilities for the
production of Sponge Iron / Pig Iron and Ferro-alloys using Rotary Kiln for pre-reduction followed by
smelting in Submerged Arc Furnace. He was then transferred as Manager [Works] in the year 1988 at
Raigarh, Chhattisgarh and successfully executed a number of projects successfully and demonstrated his
mettle to rise to the top management in the organization.
A seasoned management professional with several years of work experience in some of the best
companies in Corporate India, Mr. Kharbanda is the Head of Corporate Affairs, CSR, Environment,
Sustainability and HSE functions. In his previous role he was the Executive Director & CEO, Mines
and Minerals of Jindal Steel & Power Ltd, managing the raw material portfolio for the company.
Mr Kharbanda, began his journey in JSPL - as the Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO), Global Business
and was responsible for Business development for Africa. He garnered extensive knowledge of the mines
and minerals ecosystem while managing the entire African Mining operations for the group. He played an
important role in JSPL’s acquisitions in iron ore mining and initiation of power projects in
select countries of Africa.
Mr. Kharbanda began his career as a JRF & Lecturer with University of Lucknow. Over the years, he
has spearheaded the HR function in senior positions across companies such as Reliance Petroleum,
Bharti Airtel, and Escotel (now Idea Cellular). Prior to JSPL, he was the CHRO, Sistema Shyam
Teleservices Ltd. (SSTL) wherein he was responsible for spearheading the People - Strategy &
Practices function.
Mr. Kharbanda is an alumnus of Harvard Business School with an Advanced Management degree. He is an
MBA from ICFAI University specializing in Finance & HR. His academic repertoire also includes an
Advanced Diploma in Finance (CFA charter) and Bachelors of Law from the University of Lucknow.
